I AM....My Affirmation

Said daily, this will keep you on the straight and narrow and thinking well of yourself. If we do not think well of ourselves, what does that say about God? He MADE us. He loves us, He thinks we are precious. So these things we all are.
I AM

I am a child of the Most High God
I stand in his light and am favored
My mind, body and spirit know this thing;
Jesus Christ was born and died for me
I am, one that he calls blessed
I am, one whom he calls "Daughter"
I am, one  He calls beautiful
I am, one He calls Friend
I am, but a prayer away from Him
If I suffer or I am  in pain or mourning
He will send Angels to minister unto me
No Prayer passes my lips that he does not hear
I am, one who runs to him in the dark, through sheer faith,
In times of trouble, sadness and strife I am
Given shelter, love and forgiveness
This is the knowledge that gives me strength
I am blessed that he has delivered me
From sin, self pity and all things evil
I am delivered from those that seek to harm
They will feast on my feelings, no more
Whatever vengeance life may throw, I know
These things will crumble at the Hedge of Protection around me
And the mention of His name evil will flee
I am, one he will walk through life with, ever at my side
He will pick me up, if my journey is long and I am weary
He will weep, when I weep, rejoice when I rejoice
Bullies are my past; they only make fools of their future
And, I will pray for all  their souls
All my trials and troubles, are nailed to the cross
Of his only begotten Son who died to save the world
I am blessed, because he knows my every need
I am blessed when all I need do is cry out and He hears me
If I have but one friend, it is Him, but he brings me many
A year in my life, may be a thousand in His, still, He listens
He listens for my voice, as I listen for his
He hears all of my Prayers; I hear the things he says to me
I am content in his Promise that someday there will be
No more sorrow, no more pain, he will wipe away all tears
And for us all, a NEW LIFE will begin

 Amen (So be it!)

The Conversation

I am bringing a lot of my work from Facebook, to Blogger. I hope you enjoy this story, It is fictional, but I am certain it happens every day. I will say this more than once on my Blog. With EVERY choice comes a consequence. Whatever road you choose, be sure and choose wisely as we all, undoubtedly, touch lives as we travel on our journey. I chose the narrow way. It's difficult sometimes, but mostly, I just put it in the hands of the "man with the plan"...our God.

A young girl was walking along a dirty, dusty road to school one day. And as she walked she grumbled at her threadbare, out of style clothing and shoes, as she grumbled she began to pray, "Lord, I don't see why I have to go to school. Everyone laughs and stares at me because I'm poor! They laugh because we go to a Church that claps their hands and raises them in surrender! They call me a Holy Roller, God!"
As she prayed she heard God answer, "One person can change the earth, my Daughter."
"Change the earth?" she asked, "How can one person change the whole earth?"
"My son did. He walked a dusty road and spoke to those who didn't want to hear. He went to the Cross for you all! And in over two thousand years, he has changed so much of the World. So many have come to know him." God answered
"Yes God, he changed a lot, but not every one's hearts, not the mean people, not the non believers! So how can a small person like me even begin?" The girl spit back
Then she realized who she was talking to. "I'm sorry Heavenly Father. I love you.  I love Jesus, I would die for him. I would die for you!"
"Don't die for us. Live for us" God replied," You are not small, by any means. The Angels sing of you in Heaven. And when those hurtful ones call you that name remember, Holy means- worthy of worship and Roller means- One that rolls or performs a rolling operation or activity.  You Worship me by Rolling My Praise. Now go, my Daughter, and change the earth!"
The young girl stopped dead still in the road and looked up at the sky. Frustrated, she yelled out, "I am only ONE person; tell me how to change the earth!"
"Begin at the beginning." Was God's final answer
The young girl got to school and made her way to her locker, walking past whispers and giggles, hushed names and louder ones. Her face blushed red, but she remembered what God told her and held her head up. She stood straighter and rolled right past the snobs and name callers. Everyone noticed the change. At lunch two people came and sat at her table. They asked her questions about God. She answered them. They left and told their friends about God. Before long, the young girl's table at lunch was full of Christians. Two or three girls brought her dresses and shoes. She was grateful. They were happy and all talked about Jesus. The ones who called her names came to her to ask her forgiveness. They didn't understand what was happening, but their hearts felt heavy. She explained what being convicted was. And that the guilt they felt was a nudge from God. They were saved that Sunday in their Church.
On Sundays many from her School came and sat with her during service. She gained many friends through  her bravery and Obedience to God.
She became bolder as she grew older. She spoke to boys and girls openly about the love of God. When she was an Adult, she taught Sunday school in a class with a young man that was so anxious about being a Christian. He was in Sports and so afraid he would be persecuted. She told him of her conversation with God. He took that conversation and was Saved and Baptized that week. He never looked back at his old life. He spoke openly to his teammates about God and once he got past the heckling, one by one most of them followed him.
This man eventually became a Minister and his Congregation grew into thousands. Wherever he went, people knew him. But he always checked himself and stood in the light of God knowing he was only the  spokesman for God.. He was approached in his later years to run for President. This was a big decision, so he prayed and meditated many days and finally accepted. He was elected President through a narrow margin. The first four years were spent changing the things that had gone so wrong in the Country. And always standing in his faith. The Country flourished under his leadership. The next election was a landslide victory for him. He continued his work. So anxious to tell any and every reporter, interviewer, politician, etc. that he was a CHRISTIAN. During his Election Speech, he told the story of  the  kind, Sunday School Teacher who helped him decide which direction to go. And that she made him promise to only say "God changed him" and to try and help someone every single day. To tell the" good news" to someone whenever he could. He went on to say that he kept up with that Teacher until she went home to God a few years back. Adding that God put her on this earth to help others go further.
What he did not realize is that through her help,  therecame a dozen Ministers, three Congressmen, five Doctors, fifteen Christian Counselors, nineteen Sunday School Teachers  and a dozen or more Nurses. And those people ALL spread the GOOD NEWS. That is the only thing she ever asked of them.
So,the frustrated young girl on a dusty road that day made a decision to listen to God and obey him. And, when she did, she changed the world. One person at a time. Just as God told her she would.
God blessed her loving obedience with a Husband who was a prosperous Christian Businessman and five beautiful children who all gave their lives over in service to God. Still working today.
That's all God  really expects of us. To believe in him and work, as Jesus did, with joy and humility, love and acceptance.
You see, that day at her locker, the young girl realized she was not there for other people, she was there for God, and that would bless others if she was joyous and obedient. So the smile she had that day on her face, was always there for her. She found joy in the love of God.  For as someone sees you happy at HIS work, so they see God. If you refuse to acknowledge him, you are missing out on helping others in ways you would never imagine.

Colossians 3:23-And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Wildwood Lane

Has there ever been a place you've passed or glanced at that tugged a little at your curiosity? This was mine...So, in my imagination, this is what I saw in that old rundown Barn.

WILDWOOD LANE

All the way down Wildwood Lane,
stands a red, rusted, old tin barn
Past the picket fence, through the fields,
Where Rabbits live, Mice come play,
And the musty hay is soft and warm
Up in the loft, lives an old Hoot Owl
With great yellow eyes and long brown feathers
A Spider  spinning an ivory web
as Crickets chirp in rhythm together.
Not too far away is a cool, dark pond
Where little black bugs dance on the water
A bullfrog sits, croaking, on a lily pad
As a Butterfly floats on velvet wings
Across the ponds swims an Otter

If you go there when the sun is sinking
And the moon rises, full and bright
Your eyes will take in all kinds of wonders
As every creature comes to life
Humming, chirping, splashing and playing
A wondrous place for life to be
Their world seems to be unchanging
The anthem of music, the feeling of peace
Nighttime comes to the old tin barn
The bullfrog still sits on his lily pad
The beauty, ablaze  with  winking stars
The Rabbits and Mice, safe at home
The spider resting upon her web
And into the night the Hoot Owl roams

And God said...

I will start this post with a question. Do you believe in God and that Jesus is His Son? If you don't or you are "on the fence", pick up a Bible and READ, won't you? You truly need to KNOW him. Open your mind and heart, don't try to rhyme and reason it, don't pick it apart and say it's "ridiculous", but you believe we came from apes. Just empty that sewage out of your soul and mind and read his Letter to you. Where to start? Start at the beginning of course. Some People prefer to stay in the New Testament, saying, and I'm paraphrasing here, "The Old Testament is just History!" I know, I was one of them.
For so many years, I thought I knew all about God and all about his Son. I loved reading the "red letters" because I thought that is ALL I needed to concentrate on. Then, I found out, I didn't really know him at all. There is so much in the Old Testament about His coming, describing him, songs in Psalms of Him, people waiting for the Messiah. GOD actually speaks to us in the pages of this Book. Things he expects, things he will do for us, things we could do for others. And then He speaks of his Son. This part of God, this "man" who will walk the earth and talk to those who will listen about God and life. And he does. He speaks so much about how much he loves us and speaks in Parables that have became so blindingly clear to me as I got older.
Personally, I don't think age has a thing to do with it. "Ask, and it shall be given. Seek and you shall find." Those are profound words. Words that I have taken for granted for most of my life. Until some pivotal things happened in my life that caused me to stop and re-examine everything I believed in. And like a whirlwind it would change my life from, seat warmer to participant in my own life! Praise God!
You know, a while ago, I watched the Stephen King film, "The Stand". No offense to his writing but it is the only one of Mr. King's I can stomach. Even though it was a fantasy, the fight of good against evil and Mother Abigail being a conduit for God, kind of spoke to me a little. But I waved it off as being "just a movie". And that is what it was. The end of it was getting interested and then the Christian part was cut off. That was it.
Then, I lost four members of my family in a matter of four years. First a Brother who died in his sleep, then my wonderful Mother wasted away, grieving her son and wanting to die herself. A few years later, I lost my beloved Dad and nine days after that my older Brother who had taken care of Daddy for two years, was speaking to an employee at his work and looked away and said, "Oh dear God" and fell where he stood. Dying before he ever hit the floor.
What do you do when that happens in your life? We buried my Brother the day before Christmas Eve. Needless to say, I spent that Christmas in a fog. For a few months I cried and begged God for an answer. And, I got one. In a very vivid revelation I SAW my Dad and Brother. Shiny and New, happy and at peace in Heaven. I was coming out of a dream and was sucked into a tunnel toward the brightest light and was told by my Father I could not stay, because,in essence, I had work to do.
Just a few short weeks later I walked through the door of our Church and the people there were caring, loving individuals who gathered us up like lost sheep. Never in my life have I heard so much, "You're a blessing. You are Precious. We love you". But it healed our souls. We quickly found things we could do that no other could or had time for. I began to teach once a month, we cleaned the church, my husband, who was very good A/C man, tended the Air Conditioners and Heaters. We fit like a piece in a puzzle.
We chose the narrow road. And sometimes it hurts our feet. Because on the opposite side, there is Evil and evil doesn't like it when God wins. So it throws "rocks" in your path and tries to hurt you. Tries to find a way in. If we are "hit", He will pick us up.In the five years we've given ourselves away to God, we have actually heard and understood every word preached, applied it to our lives, read the Word and given of our time. And when that was done, God began to bless us in so many ways because of our obedience. And so, the lights are now ON in our lives. He truly is the Truth and the Way.
There are those who stumble in the dark, looking for a switch. They reach and grasp for the first solid thing they find. Is it real? Is it tangible? Is it God-given? He is the light. The ONLY light that can shine so bright that you see into every corner of the room. He makes sure you know where you are going.
For those non believers or fence sitters who are reading this, if you want a boost as to how much he cares, I suggest you borrow, rent or buy a film "The Encounter" starring Bruce Marchiano, one of the most anointed Men I know. Listen to the words in it. Wrap yourself in it and you will see Jesus Christ for who he is. But not to forget to read the Bible. That is the key. Say the "Sinners Prayer", make your life whole and filled with love. Find a Church that fits your needs. Or one that needs YOU to fit, as we did.
One voice is but a whisper in the wind. Many voices are an anthem, a battle cry. Don't let my whisper go unfounded. Those who are Christians raise your voices HIGH. Let the world know we are not to be put down. Pray for our leaders here in the US. Pray that we make the right decisions when we vote. And bring in someone who will put God first.
And live your life as if He were right beside you. Because, he is...
